I am thrilled to start off my 7th year here at Rocklin Academy in 3rd grade! The exceptional curriculum, creative and dedicated staff, wonderfully supportive families and their amazing children, all come together to make our school a nurturing environment in which to learn. I feel fortunate and honored to get to know you, and teach your child this year.
I strive to create a classroom environment that promotes respectful and supportive relationships between all members of the classroom, and to facilitate a safe and thoughtful learning environment where all voices are heard.
My husband and I have two children, Clare (12) and Cole (8). We moved to Rocklin from the Bay Area over 15 years ago. Prior to starting our family, I taught for 10 years, and have now taught all grades 2nd-5th. I truly enjoy teaching 3rd grade - their budding independence, open curiosity, and their endless energy to engage in learning are just a small part of what makes this such a fun age group.
The majority of my teaching career and education is Bay Area based. I graduated with my BA from Sonoma State and then later received my credential and MA from Chapman University. I have taught in Brentwood, Walnut Creek, and the Dry Creek School District. I have been the recipient of the Margaret Lynch Scholarship and also the "Teacher Who Makes a Difference" award.
I’m so excited to be working with Mrs. Meadows; we are 2 peas in a pod and both plan on making this year the best one yet. My door is always open to you, and you are encouraged to come in and be a part of our class this year.
